1. Taskforces/Caucuses shall serve as the students’ direct link to the Student Justice Centre (SJC).

  2. Taskforces/Caucuses shall meet no less than once per month during the academic year.

  3. Taskforce/ Caucus meetings shall be made public no later than 7 days prior to the meeting.

  4. All Taskforce/Caucus meetings shall be held in a safe, accessible, culturally sensitive place.

  5. The SJC will strike the following Taskforces and Caucuses each academic year concurrent with the first day of class:

    1. Feminist Issues Caucus (FIC)

    2. Queer Issues Caucus (QIC)

    3. Accessibility Issues Caucus (AIC)

    4. International Student Caucus (ISC)

    5. Student Safety Issues Caucus (SSIC)

    6. Race, Ethnicity, Religion, and Cultural Caucus (RERACC)

    7. Aboriginal Students Caucus (ASC)

    8. Mature, Part-Time, and First Generation Learning Caucus

    9. Taskforce on Food Security and Poverty (TOFSAP)

    10. Taskforce on Bullying (TOB)

    11. Mental Health Awareness Caucus (MHAC)


  6. The Taskforces and Caucuses shall communicate to the SJC advisory committee in the forms of recommendations moved and adopted democraticall

  7. Quorum for a meeting of a Taskforce or Caucus shall be 5 voting members.

  8. Upon approval from the SJC advisory committee, Taskforces and Caucuses shall be the appropriate volunteer bodies to execute events, campaigns, petitions, and other approved initiatives.

  9. The Taskforces and Caucuses shall employed a scheme of tiered membership which:

    1. Entitles any Brock University faculty, staff or student to speaking rights and the ability to introduce a motion to be debated

    2. Entitles any Brock University Student to gain voting membership by attending either:

      1. One or both of the first two meetings

      2. Three consecutive meetings.

    3. Will be reset at the beginning of each new academic year.

    4. Will be the responsibility of an appropriate delegated SJC peer (facilitator) to track and maintain an accurate account of attendance and voting members.

  10. Voting membership may be revoked by a petition or vote supported by a minimum of 5/8ths of eligible voting members
